Congrats! You made it through this silly quiz! I hope it added a little fun to your day. :-)
Here’s the answers:
1. A. We grow approximately 30,000 fruit trees.
2. C. All of the answers listed are important, but trimming is a HUGE job. Each tree is hand trimmed once a year and that job takes all winter and often a bit of spring to finish.
3. B. Dan used to sell chicken for Perdue Farms. He worked there while Frank Perdue was still alive and the head of the business and has been to a few parties at Frank’s house. They saying “it takes a tough man to grow a tender chicken” is 100% true – Frank was a very tough man!
4. G. We make all of these items from scratch right at the farm.
5. B. Other than Dan, there are 2 full time guys, Andrew and Robert. And the story of each of them joining our team is a phenomenal story so if you are interested in hearing it let me know and we’ll have coffee (or hot chocolate for me!) and chat!
6. A. We have strawberries, blueberries, black raspberries, blackberries, apples and pumpkins for pick-your-own.
7. D. Haha. Sometimes all 3 of those statements are said in one breath…I have an idea after I saw something online. All you have to do is…. And just ask Dan – it’s NEVER “all you have to do”
8. C. Dan and I own Paulus Orchards and his brother, Jim, and wife, Amy, own Paulus Farm Market.
9. F. This is the question most people get wrong. A few years before we purchased the farm from the Mowery family a tornado ripped through and took out a football field sized space of trees as well as a beautiful old bank barn. And the joyful part of the question – almost every year there are marriage proposals at the farm.
10. A. Hard to believe, but people have called us while the trees are in blossom and asked if we have apples ready to pick. Nope. Not quite this early.
